Following a Cadillac V-Series launch event in Tokyo with Sumito Ishii, the managing director of GM Japan, the high-performance Cadillacs will be heading to Japan, and orders for the Cadillac ATS-V sedan and CTS-V sedan have begun. Orders will continue to be taken until August 23 of this year.

The 3.6L twin-turbo V6 2016 Cadillac ATS-V and 6.2L supercharged V8 2016 Cadillac CTS-V will join its fellow ATS and CTS models, as well as the SRX crossover and Escalade SUV, which are already available in the Japanese market. Though, with only one month to place an order, interested Cadillac buyers in Japan better hurry.

Cadillac states that deliveries of these performance models will begin in the first quarter of 2016. The debut is intended to improve Cadillac?s profile in a market that is mainly dominated by its German competition. This is pretty significant for the American brand, considering the decrease in Cadillac deliveries from 11 percent to just 441 vehicles, and the drop in Chevrolet sales from 30 percent to only 453 vehicles in the first six months of the year. Hopefully the addition of the mighty V-Series can boost these numbers.

But if you ask us, the biggest obstacle for Cadillac in a right-hand-drive market like Japan is offering vehicles in left-hand-drive only.
