Looks like we might have to wait a bit longer for our cars.
Washington ? General Motors Co. is issuing a new recall for 82,620 Cadillac ATS sedans worldwide for power sunroofs after recalling 67,000 cars for the same issue earlier this year. It has temporarily halted sales of new ATS cars pending a fix.

The Detroit automaker in February recalled 2013-15 Cadillac ATS cars worldwide because the power-operated roof panel systems on the cars will auto-close when the non-recessed portion of the "Slide" or "Tilt" switches are pressed and the roof panel is open.

Because these switches are not fully recessed, they can be closed with less force than required to comply with applicable federal standards. The recall included more than 58,000 vehicles in the United States. The new one includes 63,665 cars in the United States.

The new recall now covers the 2016 model as well ? and supercedes the earlier recall. It includes 7,900 vehicles in Canada.

GM spokesman Alan Adler said Wednesday that about ?70 percent of the cars recalled originally will need to come back for dealers to replace the roof console accessory switch trim plate and 2016 models were added to the recall.?

Adler said a ?stop delivery for unsold models should be lifted soon as the service bulletin will be sent to dealers within days.?

There are no crashes, injuries or fatalities associated with this condition.

Dealers will replace the roof console accessory switch trim plate. Vehicles having been serviced as part of the previous recall will require re-inspection and repair, GM said.
